Supporting victims of Domestic Violence on the Coast
There is so much domestic violence on the Central Coast.
One of our recent recipients who received a care package from us was out on the street with 5 children, 3-14 years old. Thanks to our donors and supporters we could help; well mostly because we struggle with older children’s clothing.
We receive far more clothing for younger children (sizes 00000-3) than for older children (sizes 4-14). This is not surprising as babies grow quickly and are kind on the clothing. Older children wear their clothes much longer and wear them out; particularly boys.
So we battle with shortages of older children’s clothes. We have a high need for older children’s clothes both because kids wear them out and because they are more expensive to buy.
We had a great week this week when we opened some donated clothes packs and found a heap of size 6-12 clothes! That gave us a lift.
